Keeping your car running like a champ requires a bit of maintenance now and again. When that time arises, you want to take your beloved to a mechanic you trust. The same holds true for your computer. You'll want to use a trusted maintenance/optimization suite, one that has done you right in the past and has kept your operating system healthy.
Ashampoo WinOptimizer sports a clean, professional interface. You can go for the One-Click Optimization feature, which runs program at pre-determined settings, or run each of the 22 included tools individually. These are categorized under six groups: Clean up, Optimize, Privacy and security, Tune system settings, Diagnosis, and File tools. Within each category, specific features are listed on the right which makes for an easy two-pane navigation.
In addition to system tweaks, WinOptimizer comes with two skins and can create backups so that any changes can be undone. All of the tools, from the drive cleaner to defragger to the file splitter, ran without a hitch, smoothly and without disrupting other programs, and were effective. Novice users will appreciate the ease of use while pro users will find plenty of ways to get their hands dirty.

Pros: The 1-click optimization feature is very handy and saves a lot of time clearing out old file history, internet history and cookies, also cleaning up the computer registry all in one click. The Defrag 2 is excellent and the Start Up Tuner helps to identify the programs that launch when you log into your Windows Account. The Privacy and Security section is something that ought to be used with it's powerful tools such as the File Wiper (once a file is deleted it is near on impossible to retrieve), the Undeleter (retrieve deleted files) and the File Encrypter and Decrypter. The program also provides you with a detailed section about your computer specifications and i also like the System Benchmark (comparing your computer to a set list of other computers). There are many other good features too. All in all this program is worth it's weight in gold.

Pros: I love this software, but unfortunatly not enough to deserve the fifth star... its packed with plenty of windows optimizing apps as is promised and does it with a clean interface. Scans, tune-ups,optimizes performance, plenty of extra security such as file undeletor and file decrypter and encrypter...what can i say its great!
Cons: should have hard drive empty space wiper... along with file recovery...its not free- if you dont like this, please try its counterpart it puts you in control- its called: Glary Utilities

Pros: It does everything it is required to do quickly and cleanly.
Cons: I don't like having waited so long to get it.
