Keeping your car running like a champ requires a bit of maintenance now and again. When that time arises, you want to take your beloved to a mechanic you trust. The same holds true for your computer. You'll want to use a trusted maintenance/optimization suite, one that has done you right in the past and has kept your operating system healthy.
Enter Ashampoo WinOptimizer Platinum Suite. With a gorgeous interface and the simple One-Click Optimization feature, the app expands on its already-good reputation with an eye-catching product. WinOptimizer offers Drive Cleaner, Registry Cleaner, Internet Cleaner, Internet Tuner, File Associator, DLL Cleaner, File Wiper, and Start-Up Tuner. Each of the eight tools features a metallic interface, a nice overview, a warning where applicable, and a large Start button.
WinOptimizer safeguards potentially dangerous tools such as Registry Cleaner and DLL Cleaner by flagging only items that can be deleted without worry. One-Click Optimization is the safest bet for a quick checkup, running all the tools in one swoop. Novice users will appreciate the ease of use while pro users will find plenty of ways to get their hands dirty.

Version: Ashampoo WinOptimizer 4.41
Pros: This tuning/tweaking utility does have a few nice features, like the disk defrag and internet cleaner. It has a nice looking, user friendly GUI and runs fine on both "XP" and "Vista" systems. The problem isn't so much with this application but rather with "Ashampoo" itself.
Cons: There are far better utilities then this one at it's asking price! I just don't trust it's disk cleaner of it's registry cleaner. It has a tendency to stick while in use and it sometimes crashes. "Ashampoo" itself is a pain in the rear. It's marketing scheme is spam, spam, spam then make us an offer! If you are looking to buy a great utility, I recommend "Tuneup Utilities 2007". It's better, safer and offers more options and tweaks for less money.

Version: Ashampoo WinOptimizer 4.41
Pros: I've had this program for almost two years, starting with version 3. This is one of "AShampoo's" better programs. It has a great interface and some very nice features. Lately, i've checked out some other like programs. When all said and done, I'll stick with this and "Tuneup Utilities 2008".
Cons: No complaints, It works fine for me. But never pay full price for it, use the trial and wait for a good offer.

"Does lots of stuff, some OK some great!"
Pros: It is easy to use like most of their software and does what they say it will do without a lot of problems.
Cons: It is a little pricey but if you look around you can save$10 or $15 off the $49.99 price or sometimes they have a special and include one of their other programs for free.

cache , defragmenting and wipes recycle bin
