You'll want to use a trusted maintenance/optimization suite, one that has done you right in the past and has kept your operating system healthy.

Enter Ashampoo WinOptimizer Platinum Suite. With a gorgeous interface and the simple One-Click Optimization feature, the app expands on its already-good reputation with an eye-catching product. WinOptimizer offers Drive Cleaner, Registry Cleaner, Internet Cleaner, Internet Tuner, File Associator, DLL Cleaner, File Wiper, and Start-Up Tuner. Each of the eight tools features a metallic interface, a nice overview, a warning where applicable, and a large Start button.

  "If you have read my reviews,"

  Pros: You would know that in general I am no fan of "Ashampoo". However, lately I have started to have another look at some of their app's. When they offer me a full version licensed copy for $9.99 it's hard not too. As of today I have purchased their "Anti-Spyware 1.5", "Photo Commander 5" and now this app. Being leary of testing all the features on my personal PC, I brought it to work, installed it and ran all the features except the "One Click Maintenance" feature. To my plesemt surprise all went better than I could have ever hoped for. This version is much improved with a cleaner interface, faster speeds and more features. Heck, for $9.99 I got a steal. Nice job by "Ashampoo". If this keeps up I may start to believe, at least in some of their app's.

  Cons: Nont to date. I recomend all to give it a try but be carefull and look at what you delete before you delete it.

  "A ' Must Have' for every computer user."

  Pros: Very easy to install and use - no matter what level of experience you have. My husband's very ancient computer finally nearly died yesterday morning, and had been limping along at snails pace for weeks! I spent 2 hours on it yesterday and Winoptimizer 4 played a large part in its rescue. Now running 20 times faster too! An excellent product. Much better than v.3 and that was pretty good! It is well worth reading the whole manual and even printing it out. Also, follow the instructions which are clear and easy!

  "Ashampoo Hasn't Gained My Trust But, They Are Gaining My Respect"

  Pros: Niether myself nor UM Canes are big fans of Ashampoo, however, we have tested several new products in the Ashampoo line that shows they are making a sincere effort to provide a quailty products to their customers.

  Ashampoo got a second when UM Canes suggested I take a look at the Ashampoo Photo Commander 5. As usual, it seemed as though Ashampoo had released another product to was pretty and easy on the eyes ~ with that, I didn't do any major testing at that time and overlooked a respectable application.

  A few days later, Um Canes once again suggested I take a look at another product; ironically, Ashampoo AntiSpyware 1.5! I must admit, this app caught my attention. Security has never been one of Ashampoo's strongest areas but, they have "stepped up to the plate," with their spyware application.

  And once again, Um Canes suggested I try one more app by Ashampoo!

  Well, Ashampoo has at least earned my respect with the release of WinOptimizer 4!

  Any of you that follow my reviews know that I am very careful with registry cleaning tools, but I have found confidence with the registry cleaner in this app. Furthermore, the tweaking tools that comes with this application is really good ~ espically for Ashampoo!

  The defrag utility that comes with this app is effective and makes a noticable difference in the performace of my machine. It is a little on the slow the slow side, but considering what I recently learned about about one of the more popular defrag utilities ~ slow and effective is okay in my book.

  I am as of yet not loyal to Ashampoo, however, if they continue to produce applications with the quialty I find in WinOptimzer 4, Photo Commander 5, and Anti Spyware 1.5 ~ THAT MIGHT CHANGE!

  GOOD JOB ASHAMPOO!

  Cons: In the "Tweaking Tools," section of this application you will see the tweking option.

  Once you are in the tweaking window, you will see listed as follows:

  "Remove DLL Files from release and do not cache them."

  I think this is a tweaking that is best suited for machine with alot of ram; at least 1 GB. My machine only has 512Mb, and after applying this tweak I noticed a loss in performance.

  IF I GET CAN UM CANES TO COOPERATE WITH ME, I'LL GET HIM TO TEST THIS TWEAK ON HIS MACHINE AND POST MY RESULTS TO THE COMMENTS OF THIS REVIEW!

  SO GET BUSY UM CANES. ~ THESE PEOPLE NEED ANSWERS, IT'S UP TO US TO GET THEM!

  "Great little program; combines most common clean-up functions in one utility."

  Pros: The features are what really count. Registry cleaner, DLL cleaner, simple startup manager, nice defrag, and more.

  Cons: The user interface isn't the greatest, but I couldn't suggest any specific improvements.
