Publisher's description
From Ambient Design :ArtRage is a fun and easy-to-use painting tool that lets you play with realistic paints on your computer. You can create your own paintings from nothing, load in photos, and recreate them with oil paints, pencils, felt pens, or any of the other tools ArtRage has to offer. ArtRage 2 comes in two versions, Free and Full. The Free version can be downloaded and provides all the tools of ArtRage 1 with improvements in speed and accuracy, and some new features thrown in to the mix. You can still create, save, print, and work with paintings without limitation. The Full version adds four new tools (airbrush, paint tube, paint roller, and glitter), ability to paint on layers, and metallic paints.
Version 2.05 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Version: ArtRage 2.05
Pros: This is free! It always was ,I've used it for a year and a half. Now they have this pay version but it still retains all the features from artrage 1 for free.I love the added precision in this version. It's fun and easy and can produce some cool effect's.It would definitely be worth $20 for the extra features but until then you can still use all the basic tools for free and if you like it buy the full version.
Cons: None really. Some people can't stand pop-ups and I'm one, but these aren't bad.I hope they keep adding even more tools, but that can be said of all software.

Version: ArtRage 2.05
Pros: This is really a terrific program. It effectively combines the playfulness of kindgergarden with sophisticated graphic design/computer art capabilities. I think anyone any age would just delight in it. The interface is totally intuitive and the paint and glitter just look so cool smeared all over or used in a more refined manner to make a nice picture. The tools available are really great and each can be modified in varied ways. One thing I often find that programs like photoshop or painter lack is joy. This program is just bursting with it, and it's very good from a technical perspective to boot. The free version is great, but you don't get metallics or glitter. It took me about 5 minutes to decide to buy the regular version, especially when I saw they are only charging $20 for it. Overall, a wonderful product!
Cons: None that haven't been addressed. The only problems I had was getting my graphic tablet to work with it (wacom graphite 4). The pen and mouse would skip all over and make huge marks across the screen. I went to the program's site and updated to their new version and that helped a bit. Then I went and read their faq's (the information is also in the updated user manual included with the download) and they had already posted a reply as to how to fix it (switch art rage's preferences to mouse mode). voila! easy and error free!
