Editors' reviewWorried about your office's employees wasting time, or about your kids' activities online? Application Blocker offers one way to block other computer users from accessing specific programs, such as file-sharing tools or Web browsers, or even individual Web pages. However, this protection is far from perfect. The program uses a password to keep unauthorized users from changing settings, but it can be shut down altogether by using easily downloaded process-management utilities. Moreover, it requires each new application to be blocked by hand, allowing full use of whatever has not been prohibited. This essentially means you have to keep forbidding new applications over time. The software provides no tools that would help distribute and manage it across multiple computers. With these flaws, we can see the software working well on a home PC, but we think it unlikely to be a good fit for office environments.
Application Blocker has the ability to block access to selected application preventing the user from running unauthorized software and wasting time doing things they shouldn't be doing. It also has a built in Web site blocker that can block or allow access to selected site. Version 1 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
