An all-new Apple iTunes? No need to tempt us: We'll bite! The look is pure Apple, but the new iTunes 11 is also lighter, sleeker, and faster than the old app. It also comes with many new features and refinements, such as improved iCloud integration that lets you play your iTunes purchases right away on all your devices or pause play on one device and pick it right up on another. The redesigned iTunes layout stresses simplicity. It's classic Cupertino; crisp, clean, and timeless. A simple media player/search panel sits above a toolbar offering ultraquick access to everything you need: Library, Songs, Albums, Artists, Genres, Playlists, Radio, Match, and iTunes Store. If you're upgrading iTunes, you can go straight from the installer to the iTunes store. Since our setup was new, we pressed Scan for Music. The app quickly displayed all our tunes in the Music Library View, sorted by Song, Album, Genre, and so on. As before, playback quality is top-notch.
Current iTunes users have probably already upgraded to iTunes 11. But those of you out there who either haven't used iTunes before or gave up on previous versions, try the all-new Apple iTunes 11. It addresses many of the issues that drove users toward media players with smaller footprints. It's lighter and faster than any iTunes you've seen before, yet it does more than ever. Some familiar yet missing features (like the sidebar) are still available as options, too; only now you have a choice. We didn't try the Match service, but it seems like cheap insurance for large libraries, and it includes instant access anywhere with all your devices. It often freeezes. The layout is awful. Its bloated. I would have preferred not to have my files transferred to cloud storage.
Summary
The changes just do not improve the usability of itunes, quite the contrary. I tried to roll back to the earlier version but itunes wont allow that. I am trapped in this version against my will.

The whole thing is one big Con. Terrible, not user friendly confusing interface. I can't even get it to open on my desktop, I have to try several times, and it is just going to do whatever it wants to. When I can get it to open it will not let me in to my ipod without a fight. I find it to be very invasive and trying to take over my music library. I would like to get rid of it.

95% of program starts end in crashes; if windows is maxed, it overflows the screen. Can anyone tell me where to get a 10.x version???

Totally a confusing, non-intuitive, huge waste of time, as I'm now going to have go through a whole process of "downgrading" (really upgrading) back to 10.7, so I can get back to my enjoyment of music! This was a major step backwards...

Whatever happened to making user interfaces intuitive??? This is one of the most convoluted interfaces I've ever used. It took over five minutes to figure out how to do a drag and drop of a playlist from the computer to an ipod (yes, it is still possible). Navigation within the application is confusing for the uninitiated and sometimes difficult even for the experienced.
