CNET Editors' review
Effectively back up your files with this easy-to-use application, although be aware it cannot create self-extracting files. With AnyBackup's user-friendly interface, you can rely on the uncomplicated step-by-step wizard function to back up and restore your files, or use the standard backup and restore process.
You can also control access to the backup files thanks to AnyBackup's efficient password-encryption feature. Log or report creation and job scheduling features are also available, which we found very handy for monitoring backup and restore jobs. Unfortunately, this program does not create self-extracting archives, which would be a convenient feature if you want to access the backup files from another location or computer.
As it is, you'll need to have AnyBackup installed at the other site. However, with its helpful guide and straightforward features, any user may find this application useful.

"No support for compression makes it a complete failure"
Version: AnyBackup Free Edition 1.8
Pros
Flashy GUI covering crap
Cons
Not only does it not use a standard output format like ZIP, it apparently does not support compression at all (the word doesnt even appear in the helpfile). Makes it a total failure as a backup solution.
Summary
Waste of time

"Choosing AnyBackup was a disaster"
Version: AnyBackup Free Edition 1.8
Pros
Easy to use
Cons
Hard drive died and unrecoverable. Went to retrieve my data from the AnyBackup backup files and they were corrupt and would not open. I sent numerous emails to Eisoo begging for assistance but there was no replay. I phoned them and the call went to fax! Why did they need to make the backup files proprietary archive format that's only accessible via AnyBackup? I would have been happy with uncompressed backup data. I suggest you use Second Copy as it's rock solid and fairly easy to use.You pay for it but the $30 is worth it for a reliability.
