Version: Angry IP Scanner 2.19
"Simple, small, fast - 'nuff said."
Pros: I was looking for a simple program that would scan the IP's in our network's subnet and let me know their WINS name, Computer name, MAC address and the user currently signed in. This app is great for someone looking for just the basic info. It's small, fast and simple. Kudo's to the author...would have paid for it, but thank you very much!
Cons: For my purposes, there are none. If you are looking for a full featured LAN management program this isn't it, but for a quick summary of basic information...get it.

Pros: I'm using v2.21. This works great for scanning a subnet for live hosts.
Cons: The port scanner feature does not work correctly. If I enter 1 IP address and select to have ports 1-100 scanned, I get 0 results back. If I specify the port, 80 in this case, then the result shows that port is open, which it is. Same error when I select an IP address range to scan.
Use Scan Port 1.3 instead. It works a lot better but can only be used for 1 host, which is all I needed. I haven't confirmed if it picks up all the open ports, but I only needed it to confirm that one port was open.
