Like many other applications on the scene, this utility simply converts video among a few popular formats. The attractive interface can't be resized but still makes transforming video clips among AVI, MPEG, WMV, and RM formats very simple. After you add a file to the main window and choose your preferred codec, you can select from a number of presets, depending on your desired quality and purpose. For example, when outputting to WMV, you can choose a setting based on whether the clip will be downloaded over a broadband connection or viewed on a PDA. Although you won't see a preview window at first glance, it will appear once you begin converting files. Anewsoft Video Converter can work with multiple files at once, although the trial version places a watermark on them. If you don't need extra video-editing powers, such as splitting, merging, or audio extraction, you'll probably like this program for its ease of use and flexibility.Publisher's description

Pros: The program is designed for easy use
Cons: It does not work. I tried to convert from avi to mpeg, wmv to avi or mpeg, mpeg to avi but no matter which you use it always gives you an error and shuts down. Tried uninstalling and install 3 times with same results. It does not like ANY input format. This program is a waste of time.

Cons: I needed a MOV file converted and this doesn't do that. My mistake so I give it four stars.

"Doesn't recognize MOV/RM as valid input files"
Pros: nothing
Cons: It won't do the conversions I want. I need MOV, RM, and RAM files converted to MPG or WMV. It doesn't even recognize MOV, RM, or RAM as video file types. Also tried merging 3 WMVs into one -- it says it can do it -- but it aborted with an error after the first file. This software might be good for something, but it's no good for what I need.

"Trial version ruins the video with name tag!"
Cons: The interface is really ugly, but easy enough to use. HOWEVER, the trial version adds the stupid product name tag right in the middle of the video, ruining it!
