It adds new functionality to your mouse, there's little to learn, and it's free. If there's anything wrong with AltMove Manager, it's that some testers couldn't invoke all shortcuts.
You don't have to install AltMove Manager. It's an executable, so you just need to open it for the shortcuts to be in place. There are seven default functions, including minimizing and restoring windows, grabbing a screenshot, and magnifying a window under the mouse. You can easily add a few others through the Actions menu.
The toolbar still has a lot going on despite the simplicity of the program, but tooltips make it easy to understand button functions. For each of the seven actions, one click of a button shows a selected shortcut's settings. Other buttons allow you to view the seven options in several ways.
AltMove Manager is on and ready to go when it's opened, but you can alter settings for personal preferences. The regular settings include some standard program options for running the executable at start-up and keeping it on top. Advanced settings let you move back and forth with a combination of left and right mouse buttons, limiting shortcuts to within a certain range or certain time interval. The latter has a puzzling warning that the publisher doesn't recommend it.
Some testers reported that certain shortcuts never worked for them, but the convenience of this freeware program makes it easy for us to recommend it. It's suitable for all skill levels.

Pros: Brilliant idea
Cons: I am not specially dim, but I spent 30 minutes puzzling over the instructions for this, then decided I had better things to do with my life. It needs a good clear ReadMe.
Summary: As said above.

Version: AltMove Manager 2.1.4
Pros: Small, portable, easy to use.
Cons: Noen that I can think of.
Summary: I use this program on my EeePC to move around windows that won't fit on the screen. It seems to be the smallest program of the sort that will do this. It is also one EXE file, no installation required. It also offers other functionality like CTRL+dr... read more >>
