Publisher's description of Alarm Clock
This handy little application runs unobtrusively in the status bar so it won't get in the way and it won't take up space in the dock. Use it to set as many alarms as needed, either one-time alarms or repeating alarms. Then choose anything in the iTunes library to wake to songs, playlists, and even radio stations. The application takes care of the rest, even waking the computer from sleep if needed.
When it's this simple, why even bother with older alarm clocks. With this little application you can wake up to the sounds you want. You can configure your snooze duration to the length you want. You can even increase/decrease your snooze time right from the alarm window. And if waking up to blaring alarms in the morning isn't your cup of tea, there's an easy wake option which will gradually increase the system volume over time. Version 2.4.2 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Pros: Sounds really great, I wish I could try it.
Cons: When I download the file, the extension is .dmg.txt
I don't know what to do with that. Any help?

"This is really the best out there -especially for the limited choices for a Mac"
Pros: There isn't a good a program on Windows! This provides you with everything you need to wake up in time- that's what it's for! Fully customizable for initial/final volume and the time between that, shuffle/selected songs to wake you, volume level of alarm, really great. and FREE. Kudos to Robbie Hanson-the developer. Apple should hire him, he's done a terrific job of integrating his stuff to the Mac. (program is up at the status bar, and clock icon turns glowy purple when an alarm is scheduled. Just beautiful.
Cons: TO DOWNLOAD: it's a bit confusing trying to download from CNET, instead download it from the developer's website, which routes you to a faster manner of installation (i.e. tells Mac which program to open download with (don't worry about .msomething.txt) GO TO: www . robbiehanson . com/alarmclock/index . html
enjoy this super-awesome program! sorry for the spaces-cnet's fault

"Exactly what I was looking for"
Pros: This is perfect for me- I was looking for a free alarm clock that uses my iTunes music to wake me up. This is just what I need. It also comes with a timer and a stopwatch, which is more than I was hoping for. I was pumped when I found this. And again-IT'S FREE. I found a program similar to this for $30, so I was excited when I found this.
Cons: This has no reflection on the quality of the program whatsoever-just a warning to everyone. As one other user said, trying to download this program off of this website does not seem to work. It appears as a .txt file when you attempt to download it. This isn't a problem though, just go to the website and download it directly from there. This site won't let me give link to the website, so i will just put spaces in it-copy this into your address bar, then be sure to delete all the spaces:

"Has everything you want, but sometimes buggy with Leopard"
Pros: It's a simple, effective alarm clock that does exactly what you want it to - i hooks into your music library, has features that allow you to schedule your alarms on a daily/weekly/repeating basis (again, what I think most people want), all with a simple interface.
Cons: It can be buggy. It's likely a problem somewhere else in my machine (first gen macbook pro now running leopard), but since the 10.5 update alarm clock actually freezes the machine when it's supposed to be waking me up - particularly if it's waking the machine from it's own sleep. Waking up late, I've just barely made it to a few morning meetings. Again, this is probably more a Leopard problem than anything else (speaking of buggy), but if you're thinking of DLing the AC software, I figured I would just make you aware...

Version: Alarm Clock 2.4.2
Pros: I like it very much. As a musician, it's fun to wake up with your own music.
