The new version of this indispensable product doesn't introduce revolutionary changes, but it doesn't have to. As the low-end PDF reader, it simply keeps up with Acrobat Professional and Standard. This release adds the ability to play back embedded multimedia files in MP3, QuickTime, Macromedia Flash, Real, and Windows Media formats, as well as to submit Adobe PDF forms. It also replaces some of the icons in the default interface with optional, dockable toolbars. You might as well install this now before a Web site you visit prompts you to download it, because you'll need it.Publisher's description
From Adobe Systems:This software lets you view and print Adobe PDF files on a variety of hardware and operating system platforms. Adobe Reader provides a host of features that enable you to submit PDF forms created with fillable form fields to such applications as Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional and Adobe Form Designer. Activate search and accessibility capabilities built into your PDF files, and display Adobe Photoshop Album slide shows and electronic cards. Version 7.0 offers enhanced performance with faster loading and zooming, expanded device compatibility, and extended application support for files attached to PDF documents. Note: The Download Now link will redirect you to a Web page on the developer's site where you can download a small installer file that is most appropriate for your Windows version. "Try FoxIt instead"
Pros: It works. No spyware or other junk.
Cons: Very bloated. Try FoxIt if you want a slim 2MB alternative.

"It works very well with XP SP2"
Summary: I just downloaded it for 2 days and found much better compare to version 6.0 in term of " Speed "
For those who complained about spyware, should read agreement before click " yes " or " no " when it asks that you agree to accept " yahoo toolbar " and " Adobe Photoshop.... ".
Read CNET Editor's note before downloading, in order to avoid what ( spyware ) you don't want.
Hope you enjoy using it like me. -

"Better than version 6, but still bloated."
Pros: This is *the* program for viewing pdf files. The display is crisper than version 5, and the program loads faster than version 6.
Cons: Acrobat has become bloated in size, and many of the new "features" are positively unnecessary. If you have an older computer, stick with version 5. Also, the Yahoo! search bar is tacky; at least it can be turned off.

Version: Adobe Reader 7.0
"terribly bloated"
Pros: It can read PDF files and integrate with most common browsers.
Cons: It takes up way too much memory - 1 instance of Adobe Reader can take up as much memory as, say, Opera with 50 tabs open. Compare that to, say, xpdf (only for Linux, sadly), which might take up 5MB on a bad day, but reads as well as Adobe.

"Very usefull"
Pros: as some files are PDF which are loctaed on the net at which you need to have a look at like an iPod manula or other manuals, you just have to have Adobe Acrobat Reader to see them.
whyle you are still here download and insatll it, it is better then when you find a file that you are desparate to see but you have no PDF reader.
just do it.
Cons: When you try to open a file it loads up a bit slow.

"A Part From Slow Start, Still A Great Application!"
Pros: Allows you to open *.pdf files. Also allows you to view *.pdf files in Internet Explorer, Firefox and anyother internet explorer program.
Cons: Slow when starting application and can take a while to load. Does not allow you to convert files from *.doc or any other file to *.pdf.

"Worst piece of software I have seen"
Pros: No pros I can think of ... Use foxit...!!
Cons: I don't know what's the big deal with writing a pdf viewer.. it is more than 90 MB on my computer.. and the worst thing is:
1) that there is an update every 2 days.. thats bad?
2) it requires firefox to be closed when the update is installed..
3) It requires a reboot for the update to finish!
4) It requires another reboot after the first reboot!!
Plus, it is so bloated.. even if no pdf is open, a process called AcroRd32.exe keeps on running in the background consuming more than 20 kb of memory..
Plus I found that it has spyware.. people can set their pdf's so that if anyone open's them, it sends them a message back through the Internet.
yeah you guys at Adobe.. we are really excited about your work!!
