Publisher's description
From Adobe Systems :Adobe Lightroom is the efficient new way for professional photographers to import, select, develop, and showcase large volumes of digital images. So you can spend less time sorting and refining photographs, and more time actually shooting them. Its clean, elegant interface literally steps out of the way and lets you quickly view and work with the images you shot today, as well as the thousands of images that you will shoot over the course of your career.
Because no two photographers work alike, Adobe Lightroom adapts to your workflow, not the other way around. The Download Now link will direct you to a form on the developer's site that you must fill out before download.

Version: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.3.1
Pros: Lightroom is the one piece of photography software that you just can't do without.
I use it to catalog, tag, sort, and process all of my images. Only about 5% - 10% of the photos need to go to Photoshop Elements or CS3 for further processing.
Lightroom is extremely simple to use and very intuitive.
I would strongly recommend Lightroom for the beginner and expert alike.
Version 1.4.1 is now available on the Adobe web site.

Cons: It's a bit pricey, but for what it does, the price isn't far out of line.

Version: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.3.1
"Wow... what a change from just using photo editors"
Pros: A completely new way for organizing and working on my photos... "almost" an all-in-one setup.
I used to rely on Paint Shop Pro and the built in viewers to keep track of all my photos and edits done to them.
Lightroom was a totally new experience for me... to see each and every photo, to catalog them with keywords and ratings, to do basic and quick edits non-destructively... amazing.
The program is well laid out, the adjustments are easy to figure out, and best of all... the originals are kept intact while you export your "worked on" files to another folder.
LOVE THIS PROGIE... just luv it :)
Cons: Lightroom still isn't a replacement for Photoshop or Paintshop Pro... some editing still has to be done in those programs for fine adjustments (from a rookies point of view).
As well... still haven't found much use for the Printing section of the program as I don't have a printer at home....
The web gallery... works ONLY for a simple gallery... needs a lot of work from ADOBE to allow users and the community to import new types of galleries such as multiple folders, etc... Please Adobe, please... work on this aspect so we can upload our galleries with multiple folders....
Looking forward to Lightroom upgrade that is coming down the tubes...
