Publisher's description

From Adobe Systems :

The Adobe Acrobat Reader allows you to browse portable document format (PDF) files that have been created by Adobe Acrobat. It also enables you to fill in visually rich, interactive PDF forms. An ActiveX control for Internet Explorer and a plug-in for Netscape Navigator are included and automatically installed in the browser of your choice. Support for the latest version of the Acrobat file format, Adobe PDF 1.3, is included, as well as support for all versions of PostScript, including the new PostScript 3.0. Another feature is the ability to download and install Asian font packs, which enable you to view PDF files that contain Chinese, Japanese, and Korean fonts on non-Asian operating systems using Acrobat Reader 4.05.

This latest version includes a new Web Buy feature. This feature allows you to download encrypted files from the Web and unlock them to read on your computer or reading device. With Web Buy, you can purchase and view digital content that has been produced by publishers using Adobe PDF Merchant. PDF Merchant is a server-based technology that encrypts PDF files and works with Web Buy to manage the distribution of and access to the secure PDF files. This allows you to download and purchase electronic books, manuals, reference works, and more.

Acrobat is a must-have for checking out elaborate documentation online. You can use it in your home or office to save paper and print out forms from the Web.

Note: The Web Buy feature will transmit information about your computer to distributors of documents created using PDF Merchant. This information includes, but is not limited to, your internal computer ID, your storage device ID, and in certain circumstances, your logon name. You will be warned if additional information is required. Depending on the online distributor, your initial connection to the content provider's server may not be secure, and this information could be sent unencrypted over the Internet. This process does not occur when viewing normal, nonencrypted PDF files.

Record and edit sound files.
