Publisher's description of AddInternet Domain Search
AddInternet Domain Search allows you to search for domain names available for registration as well as find out who is a domain owner by searching the global Whois database. The software features two main functions for global searches: Domain Search and Whois Search. Domain Search allows you to search for domains available for registration. Its powerful search will find all major domain extensions including .com, .net, .org, .cc, .info, .biz, .be, .jp, .tv, .us, .ws, .co.uk, .me.uk, .org.uk, .eu, .cn, and .tw.
The software will show you all domains and domain extensions available for registration. Whois Search: if a domain is already taken this function allows you to find out who is the domain owner including data such as company, name, address, e-mail and by searching the global Whois domain database enter the domain name you are researching on the Whois Search box and click Go. Version 1.34 includes unspecified updates.

The first step to making your mark on the Web is to look up domain names to see if they're available. This download helps you to do that.
AddInternet Domain Search isn't an application, its actually a link to a site with two search fields: one for a domain search, one for a Whois search (that is, a search for who actually owns a particular domain). This is a bland page, black background with white text. Using either of these search features takes you to the AddInternet.com site, which registers domain names much like GoDaddy, Register.com, and other domain registrars.
The features worked fine in our tests, responding quickly. The whole thing is really a method for getting you to use AddInternets registrar services, but it can let you know if a domain name is available.
