Ad-aware scans your memory, Registry, and hard drives for software components from Adware, Alexa (through 5.0), Aureate (1.0, 2.0, and 3.0), Comet Cursor (through 3.0), Cydoor, Doubleclick, DSSAgent, EverAd, Flyswat, Gator, OnFlow, TimeSink (through 5.0), Web3000, and Webhancer. Ad-aware then displays a list of detected spyware modules, Registry keys, files, and folders, and allows you to remove them from your system selectively. Click here to see a screenshot.
This update supports removal of Alexa 5.0 modules.
Note: Some advertisement-supported software may not work after the ad-monitoring components have been removed. If you run Ad-aware under Windows NT/2000, you will need to log in with administrator privileges. If you are upgrading from a version prior to 4.0, remove the Ad-aware folder or uninstall it before installing this new version.
