ActiveMonitor is a parental control program allowing you watch your childs MySpace activity. It records keystrokes typed in IMs, bulletins, private messages, and comments; logs all profiles they visit, allowing you to see who they visit; records login information letting you see what they do first hand. Runs hidden in the background along with password protection.

Version 0.92 address a critical issue involving ActiveMonitor's startup utility failing to launch the configuration tool, rendering the program useless.

While the concept behind this tool is sound--recording your child's activity on MySpace to monitor potential problems--it falls short on user friendliness and performance. The ActiveMonitor interface is rarely in evidence; this tool runs in the background in stealth mode so your kids won't know it's around. It pops up only when you press the hot key combination. So if you don't recall the key combination mentioned at the initial launch and setup, you'll have to uninstall and start over. The information captured from our test MySpace visits wasn't complete, and in some cases didn't match our activity. For example, ActiveMonitor didn't capture some of our keystrokes--in some cases individual keys, in others entire phrases and names--and didn't log links on which we clicked. If your intention is to limit and monitor your child's Internet activity, more robust utilities are available.

  Pros: This does an excellent job at letting me watch my child's activity.

  Cons: keystrokes can be buggy at some times.

  Version: ActiveMonitor 0.92

  "WASTE OF TIME..."

  Pros: Nothing.

  Cons: Thank God you don't have to pay for this program. It doesn't do much of anything. The keystrokes feature is totally inaccurate with most of them with added numbers and letters so you really can't investigate anything.

  The program itself is unstable in that there's times it's not running in the background at all. There's also problems in bringing the screen up.

  Just like the other person said...no help file available.

  What a waste of time, I would recommend System Surveillance Pro, it's a MUCH better program than this
