From DeskShare :Active Web Reader is a free RSS feed reader. Browse feeds, Web, and search RSS headlines. Advanced auto discovery identifies new feeds as you browse. Small and extremely fast. Active Web Reader s has an excellent interface which makes it easy to view and read your RSS feeds. Control all RSS feed properties including the update frequency. It notifies you when updates a occur. A unique instant e-mail feature allows you to send any interesting article you find while browsing to friends with a single click of the mouse. You can also monitor web sites changes. It will highlight the exact content that was changed on the web page. Now you can easily import your favorite web sites and automatically monitor them for changes. Active Web Reader includes a few interesting feeds and a RSS pop-up blocker. Version 2.42 may include unspecified updates, enhancements or bugs fixes.

Pros: Not very exactly but it helped me much. I saved a lot of time when looking for the document on internet.

Version: Active Web Reader 2.42
"simple, easy to use, hasn't crashed yet, no account required."
Pros: This is the first RSS reader that hasn't crashed (tried Tristana (kernel32.dll error) and Sharpreader (internal error)). Pluck requires creating an account. Attensa, which integrates into outlook, still required loading IE to read the actual story. The auto-find module looks for RSS feeds while browsing web sites. This may be a good feature for some and an annoyance for others but installation is optional.
Cons: Can't delete default folders (but can deleted included feeds except in the software folder) but most are catagories we all use anyway. This is a minor flaw for a free program that doesn't require creating an account and having a web site track which feeds you're reading. I would hardly call it an intrusion or abuse of privacy as other have. The email feature is built into the program (doesn't use your default email reader) so there is no easy access to your address book. Hopefully this will be corrected in the future.

Version: Active Web Reader 2.42
Pros: Fast download, easy to install.
Cons: Kept crashing, had to uninstall. Did not find it useful at all. Was easier to visit my favorite news sites and click the story I want to view. Isn't that what Favorites or Bookmarks are designed to do? This whole concept of RSS is an extra step.
