Version: Active Undelete 5.1.019
Cons: There is no way to see if this will work before purchase! I tried it and wasted my money. Try something that at least lets you view the files first. No money back guarantee or anything. 5 Star Review? right.

"Useless download, but good program"
Pros: This is a useless download, but it is a good program. I can only say that because I have used the full version before. The full version does recover files quite well.
Cons: The download is useless. A user can't tell if the program actually can or cannot recover whatever file(s) he or she wants. I didn't check to see the company's guarantee on this is, but the download itself doesn't seem to give users a good view of what it can do.

"Did not recover a single file"
Pros: Price.
Cons: 1. Did not recover any data on my HDD. I had a 200Gb NTFS HDD wiht 143Gb of data that was partially formatted by a DOS installation disk. I stopped the format about 5 sec. into the procedure.
2. User interface not as clean as other programs.
3. Took a long time to scan my HDD (on standard setting). Deep scanning reported a 72 hr estimate?. After spending several ++ hrs on standard setting, and finding not one file to recover, do you really think I am going to go for the deep scan? I don't think so. At that point, I started searching for another program.
GetDataBack for NTFS was the solution. It found all my data faily qickly.
I can see others have used this product and it has worked for them. That's great. All I can say is that it did not work for me. Was it because of the DOS disk format? I don't know. Anyway, try GetDataBack for NTFS first.
4. No way to test software before purchasing. I should have heeded warnings from other reviews! I totally wasted my money.
