From the unappealing, tiny interface to the limited actions, Active System Locker is one of the least robust protection programs we've tested.
Although it's designed to help you prevent access to your computer, this program is identified as a Trojan by some virus scan software. It isn't the best introduction to the simplistic Active System Locker. Worse, its capabilities are less than impressive. A compact interface lacks a designer's touch and displays only the status, idle time, current time, and time left. You have to head to the File menu to find the configuration options, which opens yet another tiny window with several tabs, including Startup and Scheduling, General Security, and Sounds. There are only a few options per tab, and most of the settings could fit on a single convenient window.
Active System Locker basically password protects your desktop, preventing others from using your computer. Despite the publisher's inflated claims, all of the program options are fairly standard in applications of this type. Audio alerts, and invoking the program with a hot key are almost ubiquitous. We found too many instability issues to rely on this program. It would frequently open briefly, and then automatically shutdown with an error message that the program had encountered a problem.
Since you can't rely on Active System Locker to launch correctly, you can't rely on it to safeguard your desktop. We suggest you skip this faulty app.
