"I can hear my keyboard but can't record or play back"

Pros
It has some cool basic voices for the keyboard. Setup of the midi input and output was straightforward using the Show Me How feature.
Cons
Show me How is incomplete for the basic functions of recording and playing your own music. Like I was trying to record a few simple keyboard notes. I chose a cool sound, played them on the keyboard, they sounded great. Then I used the Show Me How (built in help with some simple animation) to get a basic midi track to supposedly record. However what I thought was a helpful app just stopped at step 2 of 6, and nothing I did including restarting mattered.
Summary
If a music creation software package can't make it straightforward to simply RECORD and PLAY BACK five notes on a keyboard, something is very wrong. I am in the field of tech support and can't figure this thing out. I now understand why people have just given up on it. I asked a question on the support website and have received no response. No FAQ or forum covers this very basic activity. Everything is geared toward beats, loops, samples and stuff that someone else has produced. I didn't bother to try any of that because it means nothing to me if I can't create and play back my own sounds. A big fat one star for poor documentation and nonexistent support. Logic would dictate that recording and playing back a simple composition would be a focus of the software's support and documentation. It's not.

"A Very Stripped Down Piece of Software"

It edits most thing I through at it.
Cons
It is very limited so don't excpect the same quality as Acid Studio.
Summary
It is TOO stripped down. I really dont like the rendering Limitations.

it works fine as long as you respond to the site's need for you to buy the software.
Cons
It amounts to cheating. I couldn't even open the mp3 files! I was able to record voice for my students' podcasting project, but it does not let me convert it to mp3. Every step, it asks you to buy the product.
Summary
I have already explanied. I would appreciate if you could publish this so that the users are not taken for a ride with the so called free software. This is hoodwiniking the users. Why do you do this? Audacity is a free software and it does what it claims. Please do not download the free version.I am a teacher and it gets aggravatiing when I have to cut a sorry figure in front of my students!

Useful, though within it's limitations.
Cons
It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't have limitations. A simple thing like using volume envelopes requires the user to upgrade to the paid version. Also when you load in some tracks or want to close the program you get a nag screen to Buy or Close.

Free with no liitations should be just that!

But as soon as a finished installing, windows and other unauthorized actions are taking place which pisses me off. Nobody can enjoy the internet anymore! I have Norton Corp Edition and it can't even find this problem.
