Plug-ins eliminate lists of recently used files and playlists created by popular applications such as Kazaa Media Desktop and Windows Media Player. We particularly liked the Profiles feature, which lets you define what to erase and when. The program can automatically delete files on the next Windows start-up if they are currently in use. You can securely erase files so no one can restore them, although the feature could be easier to use. The built-in pop-up blocker works well; its sensitivity adjusts from blocking only invisible pop-ups to killing all new Internet Explorer windows. AbsoluteShield Internet Eraser Pro is a good browser companion for surfing in insecure conditions, such as at work.
