Abdio AVI Video Converter converts a multitude of different media files to the AVI format. It handles most video formats, from FLV to JPEG and just about everything in between. However, it seems like this program has its priorities a bit backwards.
This application has an attractive interface that is simple and uncluttered, and there's an extensive and useful Help file. You import a file into Abdio, and the program converts it easily. Abdio is easy to use and highly functional, but we're not sure why anyone needs a program to convert files to AVIs. AVI is the native file type for many high-resolution and video cameras, but they're too large to be practical for Web use or video sharing. There's a much greater need for programs that convert AVI files to smaller and more compatible formats like QuickTime, MPEG, or MP3. If you want to create high-resolution movies from a series of video clips, photos, or other media files, Abdio AVI Video Converter fits the bill. We wish it had the ability to convert files to smaller formats, though.
Abdio AVI Video Converter installs and uninstalls with no problems. This is a seven-day trial version of the software. This program is likely to be a good choice for users who deal a lot with video, but those simply looking to convert high-definition video to more useful formats or for the Web will want to look elsewhere.

"Unposted limitations made it unusable for my purposes"

Pros
I wanted to use this to combine jpeg images into an AVi file, which was listed as a feature, but the limitation on the trial version prevented that.
Cons
The limitation on the trial version was much more than just a 7 day limit. It only allowed for conversion of limited video formats.
Summary
Limitations should be reviewed before being posted to help stop wasted downloads.
