From ALNO :Plan your dream kitchen with the virtual kitchen planner from ALNO. Virtual Kitchen 3 (VK3) is the next generation of Virtual Kitchen. While the prior version was based on rigid kitchen arrangements, VK3 allows you to position articles in a space of your choosing. You can define the room to be anywhere from 180 to 900 cm long and/or wide. You can put your articles anywhere within this space. This enables you to plan your own dream kitchen.
The fully reprogrammed 3D kernel enables you to let your imagination run wild in your kitchen. Although calculations are run in real time, the program offers high quality display capabilities. Select floor and wall colors, put up windows and doors and then use your mouse to position your kitchen elements wherever you want them. You can decorate the planned kitchen with realistic accessories and modify the lighting conditions.

"don't believe the hype : it does work !"
Pros: Nicest kitchen planner available. Very powerful, quite easy. Need a recent PC to move in 3D (2004+) (no problem for stills).
After drawing our kitchen in 4 different tools (ikea and co.), this one is one of the best and the nicest in 3d rendering.
Cons: You need to search through the menus to understand how to move in 3d with the mouse.
Apparently on few PC it might not work, but it's definetly worth trying.

"Program wouldn't open, prompted me a message in German"
Cons: I downloaded this program, which installed very quickly, but when I tried to open it I was prompted with a message in German. From what I could make out, it was telling me that the minimum screen requirement was something. So that was disapointing. I'll try to install it on my computer upstairs, which has a bigger resolution. I'll let everyone know how that works out...
