Version: AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) 7.0.12.2
Pros: AOL does what I want--instant message and send files. I don't get into all the extra bells and whistles. For those jobs, AOL works.
Cons: All the bells and whistles. In fact, it took over my internet homepage and I had to take time to figure out how to get my homepage back. That really irritated me! If I had wanted AOL as my homepage, I would have made it my homepage to begin with.
Summary: It works for my purposes, but it has too many presumptive "cool" actions tht I not only don't use, but don't want on my computer.

Version: AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) 7.0.12.2
"Nice way of quick communication"
Pros: I can pretty much do what I want and then some.
Cons: So far truthfully none.
Summary: I pretty much have it because my niece asked me to download it so we could talk on the IM or mobile which is a real plus.

Pros: About the same
Cons: Hard to fine what you want if you haven't been there before.
Summary: I have just started to use it. I can find what I want- but a "newbie" would have more difficulty.

Version: AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) 7.0.12.2
"A little new, a lot of old. I call it contentment."
Pros: Cleaned-up interface, great themes, simple to use, unique Facebook/Twitter integration.
Cons: Tries hard to be many tools. Lifestream feature attempts to bring updates from other sites into the AIM experience, but is unnecessary. Texting and using mobile devices with AIM is still clunky.
Summary: AIM has made strides in becoming the all-in-one communication client, yet, lacks some basic features that create a community. Public chat rooms and status postings are pushed to the aim.com web interface from the client, making you wonder why you wo... read more >>
