"What happened?"
Version: AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) 1.0.1.2
Pros
You can still sign on and talk?
Cons
The interface went from awesome, to decent, to crappy, to "why god?". The settings went from the royal king's feast, to a poor man's food cabinet. The options. I'm sorry, but AOL officially made everything they make suck worse than a cheap handheld vacuum cleaner.
Summary
Overall, I will probably never leave AIM version 7.5.14.8. If you want a good AIM program, search in google "download aim 7.5.14.8". You will be glad you did; I wouldn't even hover over the download button for this one.

"I liked it when it worked"
Version: AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) 1.0.1.2
Pros
Clear and easy to use..well functioning also with Face book-with cam and all-If only it continued working I would have been happy to give it 4 stars
Cons
It is like its only made for USA citizen.
So being European U have to add an american zip.
After some time using; there suddenly no longer was connection to itSummary
when it works--then it works well

"It's okay but..."
Version: AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) 1.0.1.2
Pros
No really pros about it...
Cons
I think the layout sucks big time. Before I was able to transfer folders that were huge in size to my friends. Now with this new update, I only have a 200mb limit, which is REALLY stupid as hell. I'm going to try and find the older version.
Summary
Honestly if any of you have a version prior to this and have NOT upgraded, do yourself a favor and don't. This new version sucks big time.

"I'm happy with what little I wanted from it."
Version: AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) 1.0.1.2
Pros
I can be seen or stay invisible when I don't want to be bothered and I can send a message to a cellphone.
Cons
I cant edit some phone numbers and contacts with out having to delete it and start over.
Summary
All in all I like it. It works for me I think its a cool tool.

"Mess Made From Good Simple Thing"
Version: AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) 1.0.1.2
Pros
Version 7 -- which mysteriously predates this -- was actually quite functional as a 1-trick pony.
Cons
This is a bloated screen and resource hog that takes away a simple, intuitive interface and replaces it with a big tray full of glop.
Summary
Leave it to AOL to take a good recipe for chocolate chip cookies and add anchovies. The older AIM was simple, fit snugly and compactly against the side of the screen & did its admittedly basic work with minimum effort. This version is cumbersome and demands too much thought in order to simply interact with another person. All the old options are gone, too. This sucks in a VERY big way -- so big, in fact, that already I see it being dragged down my Uninstall drain by its own embarrasing weight....

"my friends never show up on it when online"
Version: AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) 1.0.1.2
Pros
streamline is good
Cons
it doesn't do what it says it should
Summary
does not show up online friends...only occasionally...
