Version: 7-Zip 3.13
"Free and ready to ZIP! (and unzip!)"
Pros: This free utility has helped me unzipped files that i didnt knew where compressed. I love the right-click feature which makes the program very accessible any time. Use it with almost all types of compressed files. Uses small disk space too.
Cons: It will not unzip from the open confirmation box. But i think thats because they suggest u scan downloaded files for viruses :)

Version: 7-Zip 3.13
"Best overall compression you will find."
Pros: This program has about the highest compression level i have ever seen. I was able to compress an 11mb file down to 250kb, thats down to 1%! I was also amazed that I was able to compress 570mb down to about 45mb, get this program!
Cons: Although this program has about the best compression you will find, it lacks the ability to extract well. Other than this, use this program for compressing.

"Powerful on compression but not usability"
Pros: Powerful and versatile compression, many command line options to control compression. Author obviously is a compression expert.
Cons: Rather too many compression options for general file management - I just want something that compresses stuff without me having to know all the ins and outs of the different compression algorithms.

Version: 7-Zip 3.13
Pros: It works almost as well as Winzip but is FREE! It's a stable program, not hanging or crashing at all. It's not the fastest compression utility, but definitely not the slowest. The GUI is a bit basic, but functional and easy enough to understand. Overall a good FREE program. I would give it 3/5, but because its FREE it gets 4/5.
Cons: I didn't experience compression ratios anywhere near the levels reported here by other reviewers. In fact I'd say Winzip's zip compression is better than any of this program's compression methods, although Winzip isn't free of course and definitely not worth $30.00 / £16.00. The program was a bit on the slow side, but the price tag (FREE) mitigates this flaw.
