Publisher's description
From Futuremark :Based directly on the DirectX 9.0 3D platform, this latest iteration of the 3DMark series of graphics performance benchmark tools takes video diagnostics a step into the future. With real-time rendering and an increased emphasis on vertex shaders and pixel shaders, 3DMark03 is on the cutting-edge of gaming technology and, thus, for high-end users only. The primary diagnostic tools in 3DMark03 are the four main game tests: a flight simulation, a first-person shooter, an RPG, and a nature test. These tests comprise the final 3DMark score, though additional tests are included for more specific evaluations. New features in 3DMark03 include a CPU test, a 3D sound test, the Havok Total real-time physics model, and advanced online functionalities.

Version: 3DMark 3.4
Pros: This program does its job well!
It doesn't matter what YOUR pc might tell you...
because with an "outside oppinion" like this program gives you, you are able to make a better decision whether to buy better or more hardware!
My pc, for example, told me I had a high benchmark, but this program told me how it measures my benchmark...I found out I am going to upgrade my processor (if I can, lol), upgrade my ram, and upgrade my video and sound cards!
I just bought my pc Dec,2005, and I bought DOOM3 and the NEWEST Quake games...Quake refuses to work!
Best Buy told me (when I was BUYING my pc) that quake WILL WORK (present tense) on my new pc.
THEY EITHER LIED, or their benchmark details were off!
I would rather think that their intensions were good, and that they honestly did not know Quake would not run on my new pc.
Anyway, after testing my pc using this program, I found that I'm going to upgrade my pc, since I seem to use it more for gaming than anything else!
I suggest you download this program and add it to your collection!

"Great Program, please read the description."
Pros: Benchmarks are not meant for outdated PC's. If you have recently purchased one that is good, use this tool. If you read everything they provide, including the web based analysis, you will find some great hints to get the extras out of XP and your PC. I use this program on every PC I build, and I have built hundreds. By doing simple research, you can increase a benchmark by a 1000 points, which you will see in game. Don't complain or give the program bad reviews if your system is way out of date. All of the bad reviews I have read here, one guy with pc133 DDR (circa 1999), one guy who has a CAD/CAM PC (games don't recognize dual processors, so the program doesn't either), etc etc. This is meant to TEST a gaming rig, not the PC built our of your scrap parts. Don't be lazy, read the 3dmark forums, ask questions and learn all you can. I know I have. The things I learned from this program taught me to build PC's that smoke alienware for half the price. Enough said, download it, bench it, tweak it and go out there and own!
Cons: They don't enable all the functions for freeware, but if they did, they would be out of business.

Version: 3DMark 3.4
Pros: running on Asus mboard VIA KT400, Athlon XP 2000+ 1.66ghz, ATI Radeon 9200 128-bit 128MB DDR AGP 8x, 512MB DDR PC2700. on 3dmark 2001, my raw score was "6001". on this 3dmark, I only scored "1002". (huge difference) its tests are really HEAVY. you'll need the latest hardware on the market if you want this benchmarker to run really smooth.
Cons: none really. it's just really made for heavy testing. all of you who complain about this program. you don't really understand what you're talking about.

Version: 3DMark 3.4
Summary: Great for testing what your videocard can do, or to compare to others out ATM. It utilizes some DX9 features, and to take full advantage of all the features, it requires a DX9.x videocard as well. The only people who wouldn't recommend 3Dmark03 wo... read more >>
