CNET Editors' review
Media players have reached the point where free ones all offer pretty much the same performance and features, and, in many cases, the same source code and codecs. To stand out from the crowd, you've got to break out of the box, and in video that means 3D. Ramka's 3D Video Player is a shareware video player than not only plays regular and 3D videos but also converts videos to 3D anaglyph stereoscopic playback. You'll need your 3D glasses to view video in 3D, of course. The trial version of 3D Video Player is free, but the 3D conversion feature is disabled: it will play existing 3D stereoscopic videos, though with a watermark on output. Of course, 3D Video Player also handles most of the regular and HD video and audio formats you're likely to encounter. It doesn't have all of the many options and features of the well-known open-source free players, though few if any of those we're aware of have 3D Video Player's special talent.
As a media player, 3D Video Player has a stylish but simple interface, with no options or settings we could find. It has basic controls, starting with a large, central Open button and including full screen, repeat, playlist, a volume slider, and a mute button. But there's also a prominent 3D button, and clicking it applies red-cyan 3D processing to the sample image, a vivid demonstration of what this simple but interesting player does. We started by playing a few ordinary 2D videos from our collection, each of which played just fine in 3D Video Player. Clicking the 3D button produced an onscreen notice that the 3D feature is disabled in the trial version.
We downloaded a 3D stereoscopic video freely shared on YouTube. It opened and played normally in 3D video player, though clicking 3D placed a watermark over the image. Nevertheless, it clearly showed how well 3D Video Player works at displaying 3D videos, and how simple it is to use. If you like the idea, we definitely recommend trying 3D Video Player. The full version is inexpensive, especially considering what it does.
Editors' note: This is a review of the trial version of 3D Video Player 3.3.8.
Publisher's Description
From Ramka:
3D Video Player is a consumer media player that delivers spectacular 3D experiences combined with a slick performance. Its main feature is a 3D button that enables you to activate 3D playback instantly. 3D media player uses classic anaglyph stereoscopic technique, which makes it easy-to-use 3D video software. All you need to watch video in stereo is to download and install a player, choose a "flat" 2D video file, activate 3D mode by clicking on "3D" button and put on your red-cyan glasses - the program will play your video in anaglyph 3D format in real time. 3D Video Player is a professional software with laconic and intuitive interface. This program supports most video formats: AVI, MKV (.mkv) , MP4 (.mp4, .m4v), FLASH (.flv), WMV (.wmv, .asf), RealMedia (.rm, .rmvb), QuickTime (.mov, .qt, .m4v, .mp4), 3GP (.3gp2, .3gpp, .3gp, .3g2), HD video (.m2ts, .mts, .tod, .wmv, .mpg, .mov), DVD (.vob, .ifo) and, of course, 3D videos. You need 3D Video Player to experience 3D video to the fullest.
What's new in this version: Version 3.3.8 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

"Best player to watch 2D in 3D + 7day free. Amazing!"
Version: 3D Video Player 3.3.5
Pros
Greatly impressed by the quality of red cyan on-the-go 3D conversion - the instantly converted 3D video is the same HQ as the original video, found no flaws in it. Besides the app is absolutely free to use for 7 days (not many software manufacturers offer free trials nowadays)! I have bought my license after having watched all 2D videos during that 7-day trial period, just wanted 3D Video Player for myself for good.
Cons
No cons. Using 3D Video Player every time I want to watch 3D movies on my PC as well as connect it to my TV for kids to watch red cyan cartoons
Summary
Fine quality software for 3D experience using classic anaglyph red cyan glasses. It's free for 7 days to try so that's great if you want to watch a regular movie in 3D the easiest way. Recommended!

"Best 3d Video Player i have ever tried."
Version: 3D Video Player 3.3.1
Pros
The 3d Video Player is the best way to watch a movie in 3d by just clicking a button. The 3d video converter is also a very nice product. Both programs has very easy to use Interface and supports almost every popular video format. So ,don't waste your money by going to 3d cinema theater ,just download 3d video player and watch your favorite movies ,videos in 3d :).
Cons
The audio sometimes lag behind the frames but it happens 1 out of 20.Not a big deal.
Rest is very good.Summary
In total ,it is a very very good and useful product.3d player makers really did a very good job.I think they should add some more features in 3d video converter like "Editing the video" to be converted etc. This makes the converter much more popular than it is now.I also wish to see another product from them which has combination of both player and converter.

"better playback in 3D mode for large video"
Version: 3D Video Player 1.7.6
Pros
Liked it very much as it's much cheaper alternative to 3D home cinema. I had 1.7.1 version of this player before and was quite satisfied with it, despite some things. But have to admit that playback in 3D mode is a LOT better in this latest version.
Cons
I did have some minor problems with 1.7.1 version, like a couple of times video & sound in 3D mode were a bit unsynchronized. But that was probably smth with my pc. Anyway in 1.7.6 everything converts and plays just fine
Summary
Now will recommend this 3D player to anyone, no problem at all, it's good

"Waste of time. Can't even handle 720p video clips."
Version: 3D Video Player 1.7.4
Pros
None that I could find.
Cons
Once installed the player can only play couple of low resolution video clips (<720p) and the Video quality is terrible. The player just simply failed to play on Hi-Res videos. Crappy ware, no help nor any instructions on how to use it.
Summary
Uninstalled as soon as few minutes of trying out. Doesn't even have the uninstaller, I had to go to windows control panel to uninstall it.
