This free Firefox extension will keep you on top of all things weather-related, and it comes with a wide range of customization options.
1-ClickWeather introduces a Setup interface as soon as you install the program. From there, you can choose your default location, unit of measure (Fahrenheit or Celsius), as well as where you'd like to display your weather information and how often to display weather alerts. Once we entered our settings, weather location and all related information was prominently displayed exactly where we indicated: our status bar. Additional icons lead to Doppler radar and weather videos. Clicking on each one took us to its corresponding weather.com Web page. The current, near-future, and two-day forecast were displayed for a quick glance, but hovering the mouse over each one gave more in-depth information.
The only problem we encountered with 1-ClickWeather is that the video player wouldn't load on the Web page initially, but on a second visit, the problem was fixed. We highly recommend this program for users of all skill levels.
1-ClickWeather for Firefox enables users to quickly view current weather conditions including regional Doppler radar maps (with severe weather alerts, when applicable) and/or international satellite maps and up to 5 days of forecast information within the browser and allows for instant access to detailed and customized weather content including hour-by-hour and 10-day forecasts and user-selectable video synopsis of weather conditions for the next 72 hours by On-Camera Meteorologists from The Weather Channel through clickable icons. All weather data is provided by weather.com.
