• Definitely worth $10 as opposed to costly oscilloscope

  Pros

  Cheap alternative to an oscilloscope. For measuring fairly low frequency signals, like RS-232 or a Servomotor PWM line, this is easy to use and formatted like a normal oscilloscope. The FFT works pretty well also. Overall, the program is pretty responsive on my system and very reliable for the tasks I mentioned.

  Cons

  The above comments are true: No User Manual, 22050 Hz Max (which is half the max sample rate of 44.1 kHz, so it could never go higher), and does not do DC signals (but that is a characteristic of the high-pass filter of sound cards, so it has nothing to do with this program). It lacks some of the features common to many oscilloscopes. It does not have these, but I would add: + A "single" button, so it would catch and freeze the first waveform that is triggered. It looks like the program may have this feature somewhere, but a button by the run/pause buttons would help also. + A longer buffer. You can hardly turn it up past 5ms/div, (which is a window of 50 ms).

  Summary

  I give the five stars for a $10 product. If it costed any more, I would add some features. The biggest limitations of this program are ones that are limitations due to the properties of a normal sound card. For the most part, if you have had experience using a typical oscilloscope, then using this product is a no-brainer. If they added the features I talked about, the product might just be worth more. However, this products take a good idea, using the sound card's line input, and turning it into a useful alternative to an oscilloscope.

  Easy to use and gives a good display with typical scope controls.

  Low frequency response, up to about 20khz only, AC only, no manual

  Summary

  Worth the price $10 for anyone needing to check audio inputs and check audio characteristics of inputs, I use for checking audio signal while restoring old recordings.
