  Now expired and you can't use the program after March 22nd, 2017 xxclone will not work, unless you disable your internet access, and change the date in bios, and run the program through the CMD. For easy access in CMD copy xxclone.exe to the c: prompt. Then run the program. This is what I did to get the program to work. Don't bother with changing the expiration date in xxclone.ini

  Summary

  Pixelab has stopped accepting any new orders and renewals to all of its products including Datman, XXCopy, and XXClone. Any orders received after March 22nd, 2017 will not be processed.

  when it worked, it was quick and efficient, and created an exact replica of the C: drive on my D:

  Cons

  The company's download (and CNET's download) of this product does not install. It simply kicks back a message that the install file is an outdated version and to go to the company website. Unfortunately, after 3 tries with the company version and 2 with the CNET version, the results were the same....'Outdated File' notice. Don't waste your time.

  Summary

  Was an excellent and quick way to maintain a fully functional, bootable copy of your C: drive back when you could get it to install.

  Pros

  Used to be easy to use Formerly cloned with minor flaws.

  Cons

  Took three attempts, tweaking source drive to get bootable clone. Must track # clone attempts since it erroneously reports XXclone is out of dates and closes executable. Destination drive must have been corrupted as basic file operations were extremely slow.

  Summary

  I used earlier version of XXCLONE several times between 2002 and 2011 and it worked well. (The OSes were WIN 98, 2000, and Win XP 32 bit machines). This latest version was an exercise in futility. First, I had trouble cloning my IDE to a new SATA drive. Clone wouldn't boot. 2nd time got around it by NOT copying the boot.ini file in Cool Tools, but then File Shares, a printer and Windows Explorer were unusable. Then the new drive started corrupting files. 3rd time got all but Windows Explorer working right, so I gave up. Try another FREE product. There are many out nowadays and the one I chose worked the first time, has better features, and the same new drive works great two months in.

• It missed stuff

  Pros

  It's free. Moderately straightforward to understand. The files that it did clone were perfect (read below for explanation).

  Took all day to clone 80 GB to another hard drive. On completion, it had only copied about half of my files.

  Summary

  Thought this free software would help when I installed a new hard drive. I set it to clone the entire original drive onto the new one. I started it in the morning, it had just finished by bedtime. When I checked the new hdd it contained some of my programs but not others, some docs and photo folders were missing too. As far as I am concerned it was a waste of time on a grand scale. Then I got a copy of Norton Ghost, which took something like 15 minutes to do the same job, with a 100% perfect result.

• Cloning ruined my hard drive

  It destroyed my C: drive None of the installed programs are working any more. All executables (.exe files) have been removed by the cloning procedure. It looks like I have to re-install all the programs I have accumulated over the years. Thank goodness the data files are still there.

  Summary

  What good is a cloning/backup software if it f*ks up the original drive. Use at your own peril.

  Pros

  Have not had the opportunity to test this product because it would not install (PC had correct date). Pity, in Win XP days XXClone was fast, accurate and intuitive to use.

  Cons

  Mid February 2013 downloaded from CNET but install stopped with a message "File over twelve months old" CNET stated last update as less than a month ago. I went to the XXClone site as instructed, did the download from there and got the same message when I tried to install. I sent an Email to XXClone about a week ago but have not had a response to date. I don't really expect one now. Found a different product that did the job, though nowhere near as efficiently as XXclone used to be.

  Summary

  Product would not install due some "out of date" problem. Problem happened from both CNET and XXClone sites. I have previously used XXClone and found it fast and accurate but stopped using it when it did not support Win7. Why not allow the download but run an auto update on completion. Many other companies use this approach.

• Superiorly rapid incremental disk image backup program.

  - Very rapid backup compared to other programs. - A unique incremental backup method for disk images saves a lot of time. - In addition, the speed of backup is greatly enhanced through the ingenious HyperSync algorithm. - The only program on the market that enables disk image incremental backup faster than ordinary file backup programs. This makes it a superior replacement to file backup programs and also to disk-image programs, because making a full disk-image every times takes much more time than the incremental backup that XXClone does. - While other disk-imaging programs require stopping the use of the computer, XXCLone can work in the background while you continue working with the computer. - XXClone can clone a volume to a different file system. For example you can clone a FAT volume to a NTFS volume etc. - Builds on over a decade of incremental experience specialized on this area. Therefore it is solidly stable which is very important for backup programs.

  Cons

  No real cons, as far as I have experienced. Some minor technical limitations described by the producer: XXCLONE does not currently employ a brute-force optimization in the cloning operation other than the good programing technique of coding the program as efficiently as any conscientious engineer does. As a consequence, one may find a competing product outperforming XXCLONE in the first full volume cloning operation. However, XXCLONE's ability to perform the incremental backup will more than compensate for it. XXCLONE currently does not support a Dynamic Disk as the target volume. If your target disk has already been configured as a Dynamic Disk, you must reinitialize the target disk as a Basic Disk.

  Summary

  Disk images are the ideal backups because you can immediately restore the computer after a virus attack. Today, disk image programs are becoming a necessity - the only way of rapidly getting into business after a virus attack. However, most people have not been using this method because making a full disk image takes much time. Through an ingenious solution, XXCLONE enables incremental backup of the disk image. This means that only changed files are backed up, while the others remain as they were. Moreover, through the Hypersync algorithm, the incremental backup works much faster than any other program. In addition, with other backup programs you cannot use the computer when the disk image is being created while XXCLONE allows you to use it. Therefore, most people use selective backup of their files (with daily backup for only their most important directories and less frequent backup for others, because otherwise the backup takes too much time) and make disk images relatively rarely. However, because of the great speed of the incremental disk image backup, this program eliminates the need for selective file backup programs. This is the only program you need for backup of all kinds and the smartest solution because getting an updated disk image is almost a necessity in these times of much virus exposure as it saves you lots of time when the virus has hit. Getting a disk image at the same time as all your changed files are backed up is the smartest solution I can imagine.

  The basic product is free.

  Cons

  I have written to your company several times without a response that I need to have the URL to unlock the system for which I have paid $40. The only thing I have is the free version which does the full backup without any of the other advanced capabilities.

  Summary

  If I can get your product for free, why am I paying $40? If there is no incremental benefit, please refund my money to my card ending in 8836. PLEASE SEND ME A RESPONSE AS TO YOUR INTENTIONS.
