Manage your files using dual pane tabbed explorer.
Xplorer2 (64-bit) is a file and information manager that adheres to the philosophy efficiency through simplicity. Without reinventing the wheel, it integrates the best features of Windows shell architecture in a small, resource efficient package that's instantly familiar to work with. But look a little closer and you'll discover a whole new world under the surface that offers power, precision and flexibility and will boost your everyday productivity.
Is well put together. I was amazed at how much it offered when compared to total Commander, and Directory Opus.
No clutter and all the moves you need to find, replace and view information. The add on selections are useful as well. Not too crazy and just right to make the program even better.
Cons
Price is a bit high for the type of program it is but still is a great replacement for this program.
Summary
I would use this program without hesitation and recommend this to anyone looking for a windows program for Linux.
Excellent File Management App and Organizational Tool

Pros
This software is a 5-STAR in my opinion because of the following:
1) Allows a multi-tab approach to managing directories
2) Has a Mini-Scrap location to store your most used directory links
3) Allows Forward & Back manipulation of your directories from a History list
4) Allows multiple windows open to have different setups and usage scenarios
5) I love the additional drive icons across the top that allow instant access
6) Multiple toolbar icons help you do many things with the GUI that I am still figuring out.
Cons
There are only a few things (say "suggestions") that I would suggest to the developer (which I have in emails) which are:
* Multiple scraps windows on-screen at same time (maybe even a multi-tabbed mini-scrap window) ... even one single mini-scrap windows UNBELIEVABLY SAVES TIME that I can be forgiving
* Maybe a multi-tab view of your Folder window or (even) allow a person to only show certain things in a Folder, because I have alot of useless Network locations, drives, etc., that I don't normally need. There might be settings for this. The multi-tab view of a Folder would solve this.
And, alot of these features, I do believe are being worked on. Once you get something you like, you just want it to be perfectly set-up just for how you would use it.
But, it has enough features so that both the NOVICE and the PROFESSIONAL will appreciate its capabilities without, possibly even, noticing hardly anything really needing improving.
Summary
This is a really impressive piece of software. I have really grown tired of Microsoft's inability to improve their Windows Explorer. There is just so much that is lacking, which Xplorer2 remedies and even improves upon. I have kept complaining about the shortcomings of Microsoft that I almost wanted to buy any and every File Management tool, but once I saw Xplorer2, I immediately said that that tool is what I want.
It is well worth the small license fee. I am even buying two licenses (one for myself and one for my wife). I highly recommend it and wished that I would have found it years ago before I keep moaning and forever complaining about Windows Explorer, which is so out-dated and too-hard-to-use for most stuff with our complex directory structures now.

Summary
After trying several dual pane explorers to use in place of Windows Explorer, I finally decided that Xplorer2 was the one for me. There are two versions - the free one which is very capable and the paid version which adds extra.
Both are easily customisable to individal preferences but this type of explorer scores for me with it's side by side (or above and below) browsing capability. Additional to that tabbed browsing adds extra bonus points and once used is a must.
The number of options, tools and viewing capalities are too numerous to mention here so idealy try the full version - it's has a free 21 day trial. Oh by the way Xplorer2 runs on all 32 and 64 bit windows platforms.
One of the Best

Pros
Easy to configure and has a Mini Scrip pane where I can place short-cuts to frequently used folders. The location path, the one below the tab bar, highlights when the mouse hovers of it - allowing for easy backward and forward navigation. Xplorer2 has received excellent reviews in several file manager comparison tests. It's actively developed with excellent visual help provided through demo videos on xplorer2 website. Easy explanations for beginners to shorten the learning curve.
Cons
None at all
Summary
I was looking for a replacement for windows explorer. I've read several comparison reviews, tried many free and paid file managers. Xplorer2 is at the top of the top tier of file managers. It is a very good replacement for windows explorer. There is also a 64-bit version. I especially like the visual appearance and layout, including the custom toolbar skins and the mini scrap pane. Be sure to read the pop-up tips and the "How do I?" in the right pane. It's very useful for first-time users. There is also a downloadable pdf manual, it answered many of my questions.
Easy to use, and stable
wadebridge59
Pros
Long-time user (5 years) of the lite version. Tried a lot of file managers but none beat Xplorer2. Just upgraded to Win7 64-bit PC so upgraded to 64-bit Xplorer2. Now getting used to the extra features.
Cons
Nothing to shout about.
Summary
Try the rest but there's lots of reasons the lite version gets the nod on techsupportalert.com.
This is the best version yet.
rickbasham
Pros
Have been using for quite some time. So many features, and they mostly work just as they are suppose to.
Cons
Do occasionally have a crash, but just reload and continue on.
Summary
I used the free version for a while, then switched to the upgrade.
Like the upgrade best, but for most people basic will work fine.
much better than windows explorer
dchendricks01
Pros
It just shows how outdated Windows explorer is. Excellent program.
Cons
There have been a few occasions in which I tried to click on a folder to open and it failed to open. It rarely happens. Restarting the program helps.
Summary
Has truly replaced Windows Explorer for me
cb4p
Pros
Dual pane with tabbed layouts; Many options for customization; Can save tabbed layouts; Export folder information as text
Cons
Can't think of any
Summary
I use xplorer2 much more often than I use Windows Explorer. In addition to my list of Pros, I love the keyboard shortcuts, the calculation of subfolder size and the colorcoding of filenames. Because it is similar to the traditional Explorer, the learning curve was very small, but once you dig into all of the features, you will wonder how you went on without it. I would highly recommend it.
Can't imagine being without it!
Ronald Johnson
Pros
Fast, versatile, stable
Cons
A bit pricey...
Summary
Xplorer2 has taken over Windows Explorer. Before Xplorer2, I was using PowerDesk8 which has become bloated and slow. Xplorer2 is like the Olympic athlete watching my files and has become my #1 most-used/accessed program. It takes me precisely where I need it to go and FAST! The 64-bit version I used in the trial is rock-solid stable. I really like the ability to view and edit my files, the way that I want to view and edit my files. I've put in on my desktop and notebook and can't imagine being without it.
If you have any need for speed, stability, and versatility in file
management, I urge you to download the trial and you will become hooked!"
