This handy application adds display customization tools for your Windows title bars, system tray, and taskbar. XNeat presents a simple and clear-cut interface that sits in your system tray (though we wish it would customize itself as well.) Program options are easy to navigate. Though sparsely explained, each option includes a Help tab and animation to sort you out. We're relieved to see no trace of the nag screen that plagued former versions.

Xneat can configure the program to affect window transparency and position on top, and to send the window to tray when minimized. You also can customize title bar context menus to add the same options, and access open programs quickly through a hot key combination (Windows icon space bar.) There's a new beta function to add Date and Clone buttons to Word files, but they never showed up on our already-customized computers. We'll need to test that further. Overall, we recommend this application to any user looking for additional window and taskbar options.

Might do it's job quite well.
Cons
But, all of a sudden my computer ground to a halt and using it became an absolute pain. It normally can run audio software, office software and spotify at the same time no problem. But since installing this, it ground to a halt. I checked task manager and it was using nearly 50% of my cpu just to run in the background. So I uninstalled it and everything is fine now

I wouldn't bother installing, it's one of these programs that makes your computer slow.

It does several things really well: make a window "always on top" and/or make it transparent. And it does it in a relatively small amount of RAM. Perfect for online video watching while doing other things.

I have not run into any.
Summary
I wanted something that would allow me to make browser windows always-on-top for watching Hulu and YouTube, etc, while doing other things. It works great, usually only taking ~1.5 MB RAM. I love that I can turn a window *transparent*... it's not something that leaps to mind as useful, but I actually find it works pretty well for some stuff. And you can set it so that if you mouse over or that window gets the focus, it turns opaque, like normal. Just a sweet, solid little utility, in my experience. It is a pleasure to use software that works so well with no fuss. Hope it's as good for everyone! BTW, CNET, you need to check your online dictionary for the meaning of the word "summary," which is what your webform calls the actually post body of these reviews. Really, was it by any chance Jive that coded that prompt? Bet it was.

moving taskbar items works just fine. I also am glad to see only kilobytes (at worst no more than 2 MB) of RAM used by this program on my machine.
Cons
Some of the features do not integrate well when other Desktop skinning applications are used simultaneously, but I would have expected that.

I downloaded this program based on a C-NET special article and the evaluation of the writer. Big mistake C-NET!!!

After using it initially after the download, it wasn't long before I lost my task bar - I keep it hidden, but it would not appear when my cursor was moved to the edge of the screen as it normally would. This program installation caused my Magic-Jack phone service to become inoperative. It forced me to do a system restore back a few days, and I lost whatever updates & downloads I had made in between, like a program that was necessary to view baseball games with my MLB.TV subscription. I missed one game thinking it was a problem with MLB.TV, but it was because the restore "uninstalled" a necessary program to make it work. This program doesn't do too much, but it sure cost me a lot of time and hassle.
