XCopy.Net will transfer files from one location to another. It is perfect for backing up files, transferring files to a mapped network drive, and just moving directories in the Windows environment. Some features include copying only updated files, copy hidden files, copy subdirectories, and even synchronizing the destination with the source. Version 1.6 will now deploy a Web site by copying all common Web extensions. This includes valid Web pictures, .Net files, HTML, HTM, classic ASP files, and even ColdFusion.
This is an old program that works will on XP or older.
Cons
Does not work on Windows 7 64 bit machines.
Summary
CNet's Tracker notifies me this is an update. That is not so. It is the same old utility I downloaded in 2006.
HUGE TIME SAVER!!!!
dplang
Pros
Needed a quick and simple tool to copy only modified files from and old PC to NAS. The two large archives were at least 5 months out of sync and I was dreading the time to re-write all files. XCopy finished the job in under a minute.
Cons
Couldn't be happier.
Summary
Couldn't be happier.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Nov 21, 2009<p/>WARNING!!! I take back everything I said. Xcopy appeared to find and copy only modified files. HOWEVER, when I looked inside the files the data was still old. Xcopy changed the file dates but did not overwrite the newer file. BEWARE!
Installed O.K., Might work?

Pros
Cons
It says it required dot net, so I installed dot net, and it gave me the same error message. I think it wants version 1.1 and I have 2.0. Dumb.

Pros
It does what it sounds like, it replicates files on a PC running Windows with .net Framework 1.1sp1 installed. It gives you tons of options and allows you to really organize a cluttered storage server.
Cons
It requires .net framework w/sp1 and requires an installation to run. Seems like it'd be better if I had the option of just running it without installation. Also a command line interface would let me really use it from unc mappings.
