Even though many versions of the program come preinstalled on the Windows OS, users wanting to upgrade to version 9.0 will get numerous features previously unavailable. The interface is simple, allowing users to easily locate and play audio and video files or streaming media from the Internet. New features include volume control on CD burning, song ratings, and the ability to add sound effects. Using the skins option users can easily customize the look of Windows Media Player to match their preference. But beware before you upgrade to 9.0. There's no uninstall feature so if your system is not compatible you are out of luck. Novice users will find this program easy to use.
