• Free, or Shareware?

  Ok, so Cnet says "Price: Free" but when you go to download site it says "Get Your Server License Key For VMware Server 2.0x, trial serial numbers are provided as part of the download and registration process."

  Summary

  So why does it say "trial"?

  Lost any pros starting from 2.0

  Cons

  The new "GUI" is bad, web based UI means breking compatibility with any convention of rich-client apps (kb shortcuts, context menu), and means loads and loads of bugs specific to each different browser!

  It is slow, it lags even on a high end machine. It is not as user friendly as other VM software.

  Summary

  I won't use it until they fix their program. I was told they are the best in the industry, they are not!

  Love to give you some....can't even get it to try.

  Download system is failing @ VMWare and seemingly anywhere else you might find VMWare. 1/22/2011 This software seems inaccessible from anywhere

  Cannot get a copy of the software....so I can't use or evaluate.1/22/2011 Guess I'll try Virtualbox instead?

  Runs other OS in Virtual mode fairly well
