  Once I carefully read the definitions of the available actions, I as a 20+ programmer find it very useful. Fortunately I haven't had the problems as others with demands to purchase.

  The site compares the basic vs the pro version, and it wont do many things I need. If there is a free version, I don't see it, but stopped looking after finding the limited basic version.

  Pros

  Enabled me to compare files on my laptop with an old backup file on our server. Also allowed for synchronization of the files if I wanted.

  Installation deleted 3 keys plus 498 values from my registry. I immediately restored the system from an earlier image. I will continue to use Winmerge from PortableApps, which does no registry damage.

  Pros

  You just do what you want with very simple and clear strategy (to the contrary of ms-synchronisation, when users are frequently in panic, that all last changes are lost if they forgot to switch into on-line state from off-line).

  Cons

  1.You have to isolate the file within separate folder and then to compare folders whyle you need to compare just individual files. <p>2. Tolerance of the time should be added. Sometimes timestamp shows one or two secund difference, whyle really both of them refer to the same moment of modification (just they are identical in fact).
