Not a reliable backup

Nice graphics, but don't let that fool you.

Difficult to understand. Not intuitive. It gives a "simple copy" along with other options, but "simple copy" does not work. It copies all the folder names but none of the folders contain any files. To make matters worse Comodo does not allow you to choose which external drive you wish to use. It kept going to the F: drive when I wanted it to go to the E: drive. An error message "error creating destination folder" kept coming up while supposedly copying folders with no files. Comodo ran for 3 hours with this error message on each attempt to backup. Comodo has an error message sheet but it did not contain the "error creating destination folder" and no trouble shooting information. As a result it wasted time and effort with no results. Tried repeatedly to get simple copy to work without success. As another individual posted it is " Pathetic". Who would want to pay to upgrade this software that should work from the get-go. Avoid this free software like the plague...

Pros
An easy and reliable backup program. I have been using quite heavily a long time. I didn't encounter any problem so far. Very safe to rely on Comodo Backup when you are about to get image of your HDD. No any problem on Windows 8.1. One click and sit back Comodo does the rest.
Cons
Interface a bit complicated. There are several types of backup on the first interface as well as on Backup menu option. You are a bit confusing on which is which... Backup a bit slower then I experienced from other types of Backup programs. Creating a Boot disk option is a bit complicated.
Summary
Its safe, great and FREE. Reliable and I would say its better then Acronis Backup. unless you are using it for Work or very important file backup. Comodo is ideal for HOME users.
Pathetic, poorly designed software

NONE. Even free software should have some integrity. As a person who has designed programs, systems, and websites over 25 years, I can say that I have never seen any software so poorly thought out in my entire career. These developers and their company should be ashamed of themselves.
Cons
There are so many cons, I don't even know where to begin. I will say, though, that it would be nice if some thought was put into ease of use and, at least, some intuitive structure. Working with this software makes simply makes no sense. For example, let's say you have a folder structure such as \users\first user\my documents and \users\second user\my documents. And, let's say you use the software to do a simple copy from the C-drive to an external G-drive. Wouldn't you like to see \users\first user\my documents and \users\second user\my documents on the G-drive? Well...you won't. Instead, what you will see is TWO "my documents" listed. WHAT?!!! How do you determine which is which. This is only one of MANY MANY MANY problems with this software.
Summary
Free or not...this software is garbage. If this software would have worked, I would have gladly written a check for $200 and sent it to the company. Literally!!! But, after wasting huge blocks of time on this software, all I can do is encourage the rest of you not to waste your time. At least I can help you. I wish I could give this product 1/10 of one star. It truly is that bad. Oh, and by the way, forget any support. They MIGHT get back to you in two weeks. Usually, they just forget you. Again, even free software should have integrity.

After uninstalling and re-installing I still cannot get the online backup server to recognize my account for login. Even after a reset of password...it's a "no go". Try registering as a new user and I get this user has an account message. Maybe hours later they'll have the user data updated? MozyHome works and it's also free. I just thought since I use Comodo's Chrome browser "Dragon" it would be nice to have same company's backup. Sorry, Comodo, this time you failed badly. Failure to set-up accounts will doom a great idea every time.
Forced update broke the software. Avoid at all costs.

Decent interface, if a bit clumsy. Allows to manage backups in various ways.
Cons
Comodo online login prompt keeps appearing. Difficult to remove. Updated slammed onto my PC, which broke the software. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and got missing language pack errors.
Summary
Used to work great. Obviously, company needs to learn to QA slammed updates, and stop forcing the Cloud version. Makes me wonder if their cloud servers will still be around in the future.
Back with complete reliability

Overly complicated when trying to set up your own back up jobs. Cannot edit/add schedule for previously created custom jobs Scheduler doesn't work on my Win7 system
Summary
If you create your own job and forget to add an automatic schedule, you can't edit it and add it later. On my Win7 system, the scheduling service does not work at all. At the designated time, I get errors saying the service could not be started. Interface is too clunky & confusing unless all you want to use is the pre-defined jobs. Bottom line with it's clunky interface and a scheduler that doesn't work, it's been uninstalled and I'll move on to something that actually works.

Burner function doesn't work.
Summary
This looked ideal for my purposes at first, but wouldn't recognize my DVD burner (CDBurnerXP). An error message pops up with "No Recorder Available" when you try to run a backup. A search on the Comodo forum will confirm that this is apparently a known bug. I don't have an external hard drive so the program is useless to me. Hopefully this problem will be fixed in the next version.
