Edit KBase to any file format including HTML.

TheKBase is a multiple-hierarchical information manager with a simple Windows Explorer-type interface and text editor. Features include search, find, export, merging of KBases, massive snippet creation, color support for snippets, and a properties pane for rapid snippet classification. KBases are saved as simple XML files which may be easily imported into other programs. Also, KBases may be exported using TheKBase to any file format including HTML.

I tried this but then I realized that version 2 is out

Pros
Version 2.0 is great, I didn't actually try this one. Check the website, I also found it here on download.com.
Cons
This uses the old .net framework, the new one is better because it's newer. I asked tech support at the company and they said that the new one is actually MORE stable. I really like the new one.

Pros
* very intuitive windows explorer like interface <p>* several ways of visualizing information <p>* small files, xml format <p>* organize multiple hierarchies (trees) of categories easily, something that is such a pain to do in Access or other database programs <p>* user-defined templates to export information <p>* if you have a lot of information of any kind (bills, personal journal, contacts, movies...) to organize, this works really well. I am a scholar who has to keep track of hundreds (and thousands) of articles, books, datasets. I started importing all my academic info into the kbase!
Cons
* does not accept user-defined icons <p>* there should be a way to see only direct parents of a selected snippet; the location pane can get a bit crowded
