Despite a minor flaw, this application lets you quickly schedule daily, weekly, or monthly reminders. Talking Secretary's interface is fairly easy to follow, with simple buttons to create, modify, or delete reminders. A new window launches to select reminder details, and most options are easily selected with check boxes or pull-down menus. The only exception was setting a specific time for your reminders. You can't select a.m. or p.m., and you'll need to scroll through the hours until it changes from one to the other. (We would have preferred a check box to indicate the appropriate time period.) In addition to text and audio messages, you can play an MP3 file when reminders occur. The program also can launch user-specified files with your notifications. Talking Secretary's voice option sounds robotic, but it was still understandable, and all reminder options worked well in our tests. The trial limits you to 40 uses. While this utility doesn't offer any groundbreaking features, it serves as a simple way for any level of user to create one-time or regular reminders.
