It offers a simple way to help users troubleshoot system issues, but the program is best used by experienced-to-expert users. System Repair Engineer's operation is intuitive. That's important since the primary Help file opens an online Simplified Chinese manual. Fortunately, individual functions include short help pop-ups in English.

After a short introduction, users can start tests by clicking on one of the three function buttons. Boot Items opens an eight-tab dialog that lists programs and services loaded at system start-up. Columns are easily sorted with a click. Deleting, adding, or editing start-up items is easily accomplished. The System Repair function presents simple lists of problem file associations, Windows shell options, Browser add-ons, Host file items, and Winsock providers. The application doesn't explain programs or recommend fixes, though experienced users will easily use the information to fix problems. An Automatic Repair function offers only two options fix known Windows Registry issues or delete all policies. A final function performs a scan of select system areas and stores found information in a text file. Experienced users can take the information under advisement to fix problems.

System Repair Engineer includes an extension function to add tests to the program. This freeware testing utility is easy-to-use, gives helpful information, and performs minor system repair very well. It is easily recommended for those comfortable editing the Windows Registry and System Policy settings.

Nothing at all, as soon as you start the software said it says just the evaluation. How can this be possible if I was not to have used? Chinese thing! we have to live in a global village after all no?

Summary
Someone here says it's especially a virus detected by av panda and I analyzed the package with Kaspersky, and found nothing. Attention to those who use the Windows firewall can not be run as a virus but moves like virus I remembered the Russians are allies of Chinese rsrsrsrs, do not INSTALL THIS CRAP PLSSSSSSS!
Panda AV immediately tagged the download as a VIRUS!!!

Panda AV instantly quarantined the installer download as a 4/5 level virus. When I pulled it out of quarantine it was again flagged as a virus. I deleted the file. Please re-evaluate your file as it has been compromised.

I liked the very detailed results on a lot of system issues, but contrary to giselamb, I didn't take the risk to run most of the proposed "repairs", because I was not sure of what was exactly going on, even as a (retired) IT person who definitely doesn't read Chinese.. But I'll follow AVKiller's advice about running it regularly and compare the subsequent logs. I believe this software would really deserve its five stars if there were proper help files (for us Caucasians) or a bit more explanations about he modules and/or proposed fixes. For example, I was proposed to "fix" a series of standard file associations that seem to work perfectly on my system. And, you cnet guys, there is a new version: 2.8.2.1321 ("Date Published: Feb. 9, 2010" ;-)
