This simple Internet Explorer add-on takes screen snapshots to let you preview links. SpeedNavi Surfie sits in your toolbar as a small button when inactive. Clicking the icon brings up another pane to the left of your browser. Then, you simply mouse over a link, and the application will quickly generate a preview of what's behind the URL. If you like what you see, you can click another button to display the link's contents in your regular browser window. You can reconfigure the application's font size and speed, but you won't find any other customization options. When using this add-on with a 15-inch monitor, we had a hard time accurately viewing the contents of the preview window unless we resized the pane to consume about half our screen. Therefore, we think users with larger monitors will get the most out of SpeedNavi Surfie.

Developer's Description

Preview the content of a Web page and the structure of the site before visiting it.

This browsing aid allows zooming and clickless Web navigation. SpeedNavi Surfie adds a preview window on the left side of Internet Explorer. You just trace any links in the preview by mouse pointer and quickly see all contents in the main browser window. In the preview, links are highlighted by blue rectangles, and when the pointer is on a link, the link title pops up for easy viewing of small character images. Just draw a rectangle in the preview window and see zoomed images quickly. The preview window itself also is a Web browser. To display the preview, simply hover your mouse over a link in the main window, or hit the Get button if you're already at the page from which you want to view all related links.

Version 1.3.1 485 adds a preview-image-saving feature, solves the cross-frame security problem, and makes it possible to navigate in frames referring to outside the parent domain. The page-sizing algorithm has been rewritten, and the calculation result is more accurate.
