Though it isn't exactly a must-have, this novel Firefox extension quickly clones currently open tabs. Duplicate Tab is accessible on the context menu of your browser window. The copycat tab contains the browsing history of the tab from which it was copied. From there, you can conveniently browse to-and-fro using the cloned tabs history, without losing the information on the original page. You can also open new windows and instantly unite them into one with a few clicks or configure advanced settings to use the mouse to do it. Most users can get along without the slight convenience this application gives, but Duplicate Tab worked perfectly, used minimal resources, and didn't interfere with other plug-ins. Since it doesn't cost anything, we think multitaskers and compulsive Firefox surfers will get the most use out of this simple freeware.

Developer's Description

Clone a Firefox tab along with its history.

Duplicate Tab allows you to clone a tab along with its history. So you can browse forward or backward in the history of the cloned tab, while reading the current page in the original tab. You can duplicate a tab to a new window or to the same window as the original tab. Duplicate Tab also allows you to open a link in a new duplicated tab, so the new tab will contain the history of the original tab. Another feature is the ability to merge windows: When you have several windows open, you can merge all tabs in all windows into one window, thereby closing the other windows.
