• Go for Spam Aware 5 instead

  Pros

  It's free, based on CalmAV and SpamAssasin and it's interface is pretty good. I like that it alerts you when you get new non-spam email.

  Cons

  The plugin is slow and despite being based on SpamAssasin seems to let a lot more through than the also free Spam Aware 5.

  When it was evaluating whether something was spam or not, it would crash my Outlook. I'm running Outlook 2000 SP-3 (9.0.0.6627) on Microsoft Windows XP Pro Ver 2002 SP1.

  Pros

  The program really learns which kind of mails are to be considered 'spam'. Every mail that is not recognized as such and which you point out to be spam, is as well scanned. In a few days, almost no spam is forgotten, no real mails are considered spam... Wonderful!

  Cons

  At the moment you receive any mail, the spamintelligence asks quite a lot of your CPU to scan new mail. You are also notified of new mail with a sound and your cursor turning into a letter. A bit unnecessary since outlook gives its own notify...

  Pros

  this add-on to Outlook basically takes all of your unwanted email and dumps it into a spam folder so your inbox stays clean. It learns from any it doesn't catch, as you identify those particular unwanted messages. It will add them to your Spam list and filter future messages that match that criteria. <p>This sure beats adding 100's of rules to filter out those pesky spam messages. IT'S FREE!!!!! And Spyware Free!

  Cons

  I accidentally deleted the Spam folder and then replaced it with a new folder named the same thing, since then my Outlook keeps crashing. I did uninstall SpamIntelligence and re-installed it and all is well. :)

  Slowed down outlook immensely! If it was a big faster and didn't affect the speed of outlook it would be an ok program.
