  Makes no noticeable difference in terms of normalizing the volume of tracks. If program crashes because of a bad file and you remove that bad file program starts normalizing again from the beginning even if it had already normalized 80% of the tracks--program cannot tell it already normalized tracks. Different file formats need to be normalized separately. This program is complete garbage.

  Summary

  I purchased this program to normalize the volume of a large collection containing MPS and FLAC files that I play using a media server. Normalizing the collection took a couple of days because every time a song crashed it I had to start over from the beginning again. Once everything was finally normalized I noticed no difference whatsoever--the volume of tracks still has large changes that are irritating when I listen to my music on shuffle. As far as I can tell this program did literally nothing. Do not waste your time or money.

  Summary

  It's a complete cheek that anyone would expected to pay for this junk after the 30-day trial. It appears to have been developed by Russians, and their terrible Enlish is responsible for this. The program is littered with bad English, the Help file is full of bad English and badly translated technical explanations. Nowhere is there any clear explanation of how to use this. So I tried to use my intuition. I managed to perceivably increase the loudness of a file, but it refused to let me save this. Why? I don't know, because the alert box didn't explain in proper English. This will go nowhere until they improve their language translations. Cnet are getting worse these days, full of terrible, unreliable software. I'v lost count of the time I've wasted on rubbish and it's getting really annoying.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Jun 15, 2009<p/>I sent an email to the developers' 'Technical Support' address, advising them of the faults and constructive advice regarding the poor English. I received a fast response within about 20 minutes or so, completely ignoring my critisism and advice, instead advising me to address all technical matters to their Technical Support Address. Yet this WAS the address that I'd sent my original email. Furthermore, about an hour after installing this program my computer developed severe problems whereby cut and paste wouldn't work properly, followed by the whole system becoming progressively insane, and it was as though someone was holding down my spacebar, so all textboxes on browsers and messengers became unuseable. I eventually tracked down Trojans attached to the DivX7 uninstaller. This problem only came about after I had installed Sound Normalizer from Cnet and sent off the email. Draw you own conclusions.

  30-day trial is the only limitation fully functional. You can process a single file or use the batch processor for more than one Mp3 or Wav file. Convert Wav to Mp3 or Mp3 to Wav. You can test each Wav or Mp3 file and hear what it will sound like normalized if you like what you hear click normalize.

  Cons

  The normalized Mp3 and Wav files werent CD quality. After changing the default settings several times the normalized files still didnt have a good sound. I had to keep adjusting the volume on my computer some songs were louder than others. When you normalize audio files they should play at the same audio volume and have a good sound but with Sound Normalizer 2.46 that isnt what you get. Maybe when they update Sound Normalizer 2.46 they will improve this defect. Always make a back up of all your audio files just to be on the safe side.

  I couldnt tell Sound Normalizer 2.2 did anything to my MP3 files. I have Mp3's some louder than others I have to turn the volume up and down on my PC when I listen to my Mp3's. Sound Normalizer 2.2 just doesnt work very good. I recommend Super MP3 Normalizer it works and I dont have to adjust the volume up or down any more when I listen to my MP3's. Make sure you make a back up of all your original MP3's first if you use Sound Normalizer 2.2 you will be glad you did.
