Works simply and easily, although you do have to type in recorded items by hand.
Cons
Riddled with Spyware! Even if you decline all offers, it installs BHOs to hijack your website. Triggered Spybot alerts dozens of times with all the changes it tried to make to the system. Even denying all of these, it still hijacked my homepage, search bars, and address bars -- am still trying out how to put back the last item. These things should NOT happen without prior permission! Have reversed most of the effects; if it tries to hijack again, am deleting this and looking for another, comparable program.

Do not under any circumstances download, unless you like to use cruddy search engines and consider it fun to spend an afternoon on spyware removal.

Pros
I can go to Rhapsody, Sirius, Pandora, You Tube or anywhere on line and record the audio of whatever is playing through the computer. The program even gives options on what bit rate to record. It does a great job of capturing entire albums and separates each song, track by track.
Cons
It does not label each song. The user has to manually enter the title, artist, and album. A user may get wrist cramp if they download a large album because they have to title everything. I know that there is a data base of music (forget the 4 letters) that will go on-line and title (identify) all the music. It was always in Roxio's CD burn programs. It's a shame this technology that was around 10 years ago can't be included in this program. It is a pain in the rear to name every track! However, once this is complete you have the digital copy forever and can burn disks or drop on your phone or tablet. Perhaps there is a legal reason why accessing the data base isn't in the program. If you have a smartphone you could use the program Shazam but like I said it was done much easier 10 years ago, there is a much better way to do this labeling thing!
Summary
Max Recorder is worth it because of the ability to grab free stuff. It will even record talk radio. They make you work for what you get but if you don't mind doing a lot of copying and pasting then this is a nice program. If you are used to all your downloads being titled automatically this program isn't for you.
