Repair the date stamps and order of your songs.

If your mp3 player gets the order of the songs wrong, then you need Song Renumber. It will automatically fix the problem three ways. First it can add sequence numbers to the file names. Second, it can fix the date stamps on the songs. Third it can copy the songs in the same order that you are looking at them. With this, you won't have to re-rip, which you may have noticed is the next best method. The next time you stream rip 8 hours of Internet radio and forget to add sequence numbers to the files, you will wish you had Song Renumber.

Version 1.4 stops an error upon selecting a folder with more than MP3 files in it.

Pros
Does Exactly what it says it does, renumbers audio files in the order you list them, uses a 4-digit number, so will handle any amount of files. Renames fast.
Cons
This drives me crazy: your last folder remains selected. You can ONLY select a new folder by going to My PC, drive, folder, etc. EVERY time you need to go to the next folder! You cannot type in a folder name! It's a brilliant/stupid program because of this glaring error.
Summary
The failure to support logical file organization - you know, lots of artists under the same master folder format listed out alphabetically, etc. so that you could just tweak the folder names would have made this program useful. As is, it's as painful as manually renaming files. Does its functions well, but isn't developed enough to be useful for anything other than a single use on one folder.

Pros
very easy to use - pick a folder and click on fix dates... doesn't get much simpler ! If you listen to a lot of mp3 books or radio plays on your mp3 player then you will now get Chapter 1 followed by Chapter 2 etc...
Cons
Non - did exactly what its supposed to do - I only wrote this review because I thought the other reviewer had got it so wrong !
