SKTimeStamp for Windows

SKTimeStamp is a Windows shell extension that integrates directly into Windows Explorer to modify file and folder metadata. It adds a new Time Stamp tab to the standard Properties dialog, where you can view and edit creation, modification, and last access timestamps. The software operates as a background integration rather than a standalone application, extending Explorer’s native capabilities while preserving the familiar interface structure. 

Once installed, SKTimeStamp embeds within the Windows environment, enabling timestamp control directly through system dialogs. It functions entirely within the file system properties framework, allowing accurate attribute editing without requiring additional software or separate configuration tools.

Explorer time

SKTimeStamp’s primary function is to manage file and folder timestamps from within Windows Explorer. It supports three main attributes: creation, modification, and last access times, allowing independent or combined editing. You can enter specific date and time values, with the updated metadata immediately reflected in the system. This integration provides fine control over file attributes while retaining the standard layout of the Properties dialog.

The extension modifies only metadata and does not alter file content or structure. Its operations are processed through the existing Windows API, maintaining the same data-handling conventions used by the operating system. It operates under user-level permissions, adhering to the same access restrictions already in place. Changes made through it are system-recognized and persist across file moves, copies, and renames.

The layout of the Time Stamp tab mirrors Windows’ design language. Date and time fields appear in structured input boxes, and optional checkboxes determine which attributes to apply. This consistent formatting supports accurate field entry and prevents accidental overwrites. The interface follows the host environment’s theme and inherits standard system fonts and controls for visual continuity. However, it’s limited to timestamp modification only

Access time fix

SKTimeStamp provides direct timestamp management through integration with the system’s file property dialogs. It focuses exclusively on editing creation, modification, and access dates without extending to other metadata types. The extension remains lightweight and consistent with the Explorer interface. Its only noted limitation is its singular purpose, as it performs timestamp changes effectively but does not include broader file attribute or batch-editing functionality.
