SkarSplit cuts oversize files into smaller pieces and rejoins split files, but lacks a key feature found in other file splitters. This light freeware utility doesn't require installation and can easily fit on a flash drive or diskette. Its interface is bland but straightforward and the process is clearly presented in easy-to-follow steps. In addition to the convenient drag-and-drop method, SkarSplit further simplifies access with four options to add program shortcuts to the context, Start, and Send To menus, as well as to the desktop. Also impressive are the split size options, which let you decide on the number of output files to create or the size of output files. SkarSplit proved to be speedy and reliable with most test files, although dicing up files as large as 1GB did take a bit of time. Its main flaw, however, is that it can't create self-joining batch files and recipients of split files will need to have a copy of the program to reunite them. SkarSplit can help any user manage those monster files, but those looking for a program with the ability to create batch files will want to keep looking.

It's very simple, nice interface, light, no installation! Free and easy to use, with drag and drop! Wondering why only 600+ users have downloaded it...i have tried the others, still this is the best

They should have included more pre-defined like Cd:650MB, but it's ok, users can always add their customized sizes!
