This application provides basic ways to shut down your computer automatically. There's nothing glamorous in its simple, unappealing interface, but it allows you to navigate using buttons and check boxes. ShutItDown has options for performing shutdown functions like logoff, standby, reboot, and shutdown. Certain user and system actions like running a program, opening a document, ejecting the CD-ROM drive, and erasing system history also are included in this application. You can let it perform shutdown operations via mouse clicks to a system-tray icon or automatically by using its straightforward timer and scheduling utility. The hot-key feature is less impressive, since its functionality depends on the method you selected in the Timers tab of the Configuration dialog box. The inclusion of other features like security and log creation adds flexibility and a bit of vigor to this program. Any users who want a simple-to-use shutdown utility will benefit from trying ShutItDown.
